What is microblading anyways?

Before and After Microblading Procedure

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that should only be carried out by a trained technician. And did you know in the state of Washington you don’t have to be an esthetician to do microblading? It’s actually pretty scary how lax and easy it is to get a certificate and your tattoo license. Don’t worry, Lindy is a very seasoned esthetician and has gone through very thorough training, and her philosophy always revolves around continuing education.

The special hand-tool that’s used houses very sharp needles and is positioned in a way that resembles very much like a blade.

Tiny “cuts” are made in the eyebrow and the required pigment is deposited. This will ensure those tiny lines look like individual hairs.

Before and After Microblading Procedure

You might be thinking, “So this is a tattoo?” The answer is yes and no. This is semi-permanent and this is a manual procedure. When using a hand held microblade, the pigment is placed closer to the surface than when a machine is used. This technique leaves very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.

It may sound scary, but we strive to make this entire process pain-free…literally and figuratively. We use a topical numbing cream before the procedure, and have even had some clients fall asleep.

Procedure:

  • A consultation is required one week before the procedure
  • Expect the procedure to take 2-3 hours
  • You absolutely have to come back 6-8 weeks after your first procedure for a touch-up
  • The color will fade at least 30% while you’re healing
  • Results will last 1-3 years, depending on each individual
